10 Esto tendrán ellos como pago por su orgullo, porque han afrentado y se han engrandecido sobre el pueblo del SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

Zephaniah 2:10

This shall they have for their pride
This calamity shall come upon their land, the land of the Moabites and Ammonites, for their pride, which often goes before a fall; and has frequently been the cause of the ruin of kingdoms and states, and of particular persons; and indeed seems to have been the first sin of the apostate angels, and of fallen man. Of the pride of Moab see ( Isaiah 16:6 ) : because they have reproached and magnified [themselves] against the
people of the Lord of hosts;
they looked with disdain upon them, as greatly below them; and spoke contemptibly of them, of their nation, and religion; and "made" themselves "great", and set up themselves "above" them, opened their mouths wide, and gave their tongues great liberties in blaspheming and reviling them: what was done to them is taken by the Lord as done to himself; see ( Jeremiah 48:42 ) .

8 He oído las afrentas de Moab y los ultrajes de los hijos de Amón, con los cuales afrentaron a mi pueblo y se engrandecieron sobre su territorio.

9 Por tanto, vivo yodeclara el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel que Moab será como Sodoma, y los hijos de Amón como Gomorra: campo de ortigas y mina de sal, una desolación perpetua. El remanente de mi pueblo los saqueará, y el resto de mi nación los heredará.

11 Terrible será el SEÑOR contra ellos, porque debilitará a todos los dioses de la tierra; y se inclinarán a El todas las costas de las naciones cada una desde su lugar.

12 También vosotros, etíopes, seréis muertos por mi espada.
