Mark 9:42-50

Listen to Mark 9:42-50

Temptations and Trespasses

42 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea. 1
43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two hands and go into hell, [a] into the unquenchable fire. [b]
45 If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. [c]
47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,
48 where ‘their worm never dies, and the fire is never quenched.’ [d]

Good Salt

49 For everyone will be salted with fire. [e] 2
50 Salt is good, but if the salt loses its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
