John 19:16

Then delivered he him therefore
Perceiving he could not by any means work upon them, and that nothing would satisfy them but his death; he therefore passed sentence on him, and gave him up to their will,

unto them to be crucified;
as they requested, and which was done in a judicial way, and all by divine appointment, according to the counsel and foreknowledge of God:

and they took Jesus and led him away;
directly from the judgment hall, out of the city to the place of execution, whither he was led as a lamb to the slaughter, without opening his mouth against God or man; but behaved with the utmost patience, meekness, and resignation.

14 It was about noon on the Preparation Day for the Passover. Pilate said to the Jewish leaders, "Here's your king."

15 The Jewish leaders cried out, "Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!" Pilate responded, "What? Do you want me to crucify your king?" "We have no king except the emperor," the chief priests answered.

16 Then Pilate handed Jesus over to be crucified. The soldiers took Jesus prisoner.

17 Carrying his cross by himself, he went out to a place called Skull Place (in Aramaic, Golgotha).

18 That's where they crucified him—and two others with him, one on each side and Jesus in the middle.
