Isaiah 24:22

22 They will be assembled like prisoners in a dungeon and shut up in prison to be punished many years.

Isaiah 24:22 Meaning and Commentary

Isaiah 24:22

And they shall be gathered together
First to the battle of the great day of God Almighty at Armageddon, ( Revelation 16:14 Revelation 16:16 ) ( Revelation 19:19 ) and there being overcome and taken, they shall be gathered together [as] prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the
prison;
in the prison or the grave, and in hell; as captives are, till such time as something is determined and ordered what to be done with them: and after many days shall they be visited;
or punished, that is, after the thousand years are ended, when the wicked dead will be all raised; after the battle of Gog and Magog, when Satan, the beast, and false prophet, and all their adherents, shall be cast into the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, ( Revelation 19:20 Revelation 19:21 ) ( Revelation 20:5 Revelation 20:8-10 ) .

Isaiah 24:22 In-Context

20 The earth staggers to and fro like a drunk, sways back and forth like a watchman's shelter; its transgression weighs heavy upon it; it will fall and not rise again.
21 When that day comes, ADONAI will punish the armies of the high heaven on high, and the kings of the earth here on earth.
22 They will be assembled like prisoners in a dungeon and shut up in prison to be punished many years.
23 Then the moon will be confused and the sun ashamed, for ADONAI-Tzva'ot will rule on Mount Tziyon and in Yerushalayim, with his glory manifest to the rulers of his people.
