Job 33:31 Meaning and Commentary

Job 33:31

Mark well, O Job
Consider and weigh well what has been said; or rather attend to what is further to be said:

hearken unto me;
to what he was about to say; for he was full of matter, and had not yet vented all he had to utter:

hold thy peace, and I will speak;
be silent and do not interrupt, and I will go on with my discourse.

Job 33:31 In-Context

29 God will accomplish all these things twice, even three times, with a man,
30 to bring him back from the pit, so that he can enjoy the light of the living.
31 "Pay attention, Iyov, listen to me; keep quiet, and I will keep speaking.
32 If you have something to say, answer me; speak, because I want to show that you are right.
33 If not, then listen to me; keep quiet, and I will teach you wisdom."
