4:6 On the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, see note on Gn 19:24-25,27-29. Even if a “natural” explanation is proposed, this verse affirms that the Lord was the source of these events.

4:20 “Anointed” could refer to the king, who was ceremonially anointed when he became king (1Sm 10:1; 16:13; 24:6; 1Kg 1:39) or to the future Messiah (Ps 2:2; Jn 1:41). Here it referred to the current king, Zedekiah (2Kg 25:7).
