122:5 The mention of “thrones of the house of David” indicates that there was probably a high court of appeals in the royal city. Local elders could handle routine cases, but the most difficult cases had to be brought to the leader of the nation or his representatives (72:2; see Ex 18:13-23; 1Kg 3:16-28).
