Another quite popular view sees Babylon primarily as an ecclesiastical system (Rev. Rev. 17:1+), but also having commercial attributes (Rev. Rev. 18:1+). This view takes the word mystery written upon her forehead (Rev. Rev. 17:5+) as part of her title rather than an indication that there is a mystery associated with Johns vision concerning her role in the time of the end.
