EXPLANATORY NOTES AND QUAINT SAYINGS

Verse 11. Be not far from me; for trouble is near; and so it is high time for thee to put forth a helping hand. Hominibus profanis mirabilis videtur haecratio, to profane persons, this seemeth to be a strange reason, saith an interpreter; but it is a very good one, as this prophet knew, who therefore makes it his plea.
