1	Amaziah begins to reign well.

5	Having hired an army of Israelites against the Edomites, at the word of a prophet dismisses them.

13	The Israelites, discontented with their dismission, spoil as they return home.
14	Amaziah, proud of his victory, serves the gods of Edom, and despises the admonitions of the prophet.
17	He provokes Joash to his overthrow.
25	His reign.
27	He is slain by conspiracy.

Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and made them captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, according to the houses of their fathers, throughout all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield.
