So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing.

- The original of this obscure clause is {ish shilcho hammayim,} which is rendered by Montanus, {vir missile suum aquas,} "a man his dart to the waters," of which it is difficult to make sense It is wholly omitted by the LXX.; and one of De Rossi's MSS. reads, {meshallachah l hammayim,} "in order to send them to the water."
