Psalms 106:22 (King James Version)
Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.
- Wondrous
- The plagues he inflicted on the Egyptians. Egypt is called the land of Ham, or rather, Cham, because it was peopled by Mizraim the son of Ham, and grandson of Noah. Plutarch informs us, that the Egyptians called their country [Chemia,] Chemia; and the Copts give it the name of Chemi, [Chemi,] to the present day.
