Ezekiel 22:15

15 I will disperse you among the nations and scatter you among the countries; I will purge your uncleanness.

Ezekiel 22:15 Meaning and Commentary

Ezekiel 22:15

And I will scatter thee among the Heathen, and disperse thee
in the countries
Not only cause them to be carried captive to some one place, as Babylon; but to be scattered and dispersed throughout the various provinces of it, and in other nations, as chaff is by the winds; signifying hereby the power by which it would be done; their weakness, who would not be able to hinder it; and the uncomfortable condition they would be in: and will consume thy filthiness out of thee;
by destroying some filthy persons, and reforming others; by bringing them by means of those afflictions to a sense of their sins, and to forsake them; and so would be refined as silver from its dross in a furnace: it may have a particular reference to their idolatry, that filthy sin, which they were cured of, and purged from, by their captivity, and to which they returned no more.

Ezekiel 22:15 In-Context

13 "Now look, I clap My hands together against the unjust gain you have made and against the blood shed among you.
14 Will your courage endure or your hands be strong in the days when I deal with you? I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will act.
15 I will disperse you among the nations and scatter you among the countries; I will purge your uncleanness.
16 You will be profaned in the sight of the nations. Then you will know that I am the Lord."
17 The word of the Lord came to me:
