And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to
Tarshish Of which, (See Gill on 1 Kings 22:48), and though it is there said, ( 1 Kings 22:49 ) , that Jehoshaphat refused letting the servants of Ahaziah go with his, that was after he had been reproved for joining with him, and after the ships were broken:

and they made the ships in Eziongeber;

35 此 後 ， 猶 大 王 約 沙 法 與 以 色 列 王 亞 哈 謝 交 好 ； 亞 哈 謝 行 惡 太 甚 。

37 那 時 瑪 利 沙 人 、 多 大 瓦 的 兒 子 以 利 以 謝 向 約 沙 法 預 言 說 ： 因 你 與 亞 哈 謝 交 好 ， 耶 和 華 必 破 壞 你 所 造 的 。 後 來 那 船 果 然 破 壞 ， 不 能 往 他 施 去 了 。
