5 有 一 人 砍 樹 的 時 候 ， 斧 頭 掉 在 水 裡 ， 他 就 呼 叫 說 ： 哀 哉 ！ 我 主 啊 ， 這 斧 子 是 借 的 。

2 Kings 6:5

But as one was felling a beam
Cutting down a tree, or a branch of it:

the axe head fell into the water:
into the waters of Jordan; or "the iron" ^F4, the iron part of it, with which the wood was cut; that flew off from the helve into the water:

and he cried, and said, alas, master! for it was borrowed:
it grieved him to lose his axe, because he could do no more work, and the more because it was not his own, but he had borrowed it of his neighbour; and still more, because, as it seems, he was poor, and not able to pay for it, which, being of an honest disposition, gave him distress.

3 有 一 人 說 ： 求 你 與 僕 人 同 去 。 回 答 說 ： 我 可 以 去 。

4 於 是 以 利 沙 與 他 們 同 去 。 到 了 約 但 河 ， 就 砍 伐 樹 木 。

5 有 一 人 砍 樹 的 時 候 ， 斧 頭 掉 在 水 裡 ， 他 就 呼 叫 說 ： 哀 哉 ！ 我 主 啊 ， 這 斧 子 是 借 的 。

6 　 神 人 問 說 ： 掉 在 哪 裡 了 ？ 他 將 那 地 方 指 給 以 利 沙 看 。 以 利 沙 砍 了 一 根 木 頭 ， 拋 在 水 裡 ， 斧 頭 就 漂 上 來 了 。

7 以 利 沙 說 ： 拿 起 來 罷 ！ 那 人 就 伸 手 拿 起 來 了 。
