37 於 是 帶 著 彼 得 、 雅 各 、 和 雅 各 的 兄 弟 約 翰 同 去 ， 不 許 別 人 跟 隨 他 。

Mark 5:37

And he suffered no man to follow him
To the house of the ruler, but dismissed the multitude, being not desirous of the honour and applause of men: probably what he said to the ruler, was privately, and with a low voice, so that the multitude did not hear him; and understanding by the messengers that the child was dead, were the more easily prevailed upon to depart, since they might conclude there was nothing now to be done;

save Peter, and James, and John, the brother of James:
three favourite disciples, who were a sufficient number of witnesses; and who were taken alone along with Christ on some other occasions, as at his transfiguration, and when in the garden.

35 還 說 話 的 時 候 ， 有 人 從 管 會 堂 的 家 裡 來 ， 說 ： 你 的 女 兒 死 了 ， 何 必 還 勞 動 先 生 呢 ？

36 耶 穌 聽 見 所 說 的 話 ， 就 對 管 會 堂 的 說 ： 不 要 怕 ， 只 要 信 ！

37 於 是 帶 著 彼 得 、 雅 各 、 和 雅 各 的 兄 弟 約 翰 同 去 ， 不 許 別 人 跟 隨 他 。

38 他 們 來 到 管 會 堂 的 家 裡 ； 耶 穌 看 見 那 裡 亂 嚷 ， 並 有 人 大 大 的 哭 泣 哀 號 ，

39 進 到 裡 面 ， 就 對 他 們 說 ： 為 甚 麼 亂 嚷 哭 泣 呢 ？ 孩 子 不 是 死 了 ， 是 睡 著 了 。
