那鴻書 3:5-19

5 萬 軍 之 耶 和 華 說 ： 我 與 你 為 敵 ； 我 必 揭 起 你 的 衣 襟 ， 蒙 在 你 臉 上 ， 使 列 國 看 見 你 的 赤 體 ， 使 列 邦 觀 看 你 的 醜 陋 。

6 我 必 將 可 憎 污 穢 之 物 拋 在 你 身 上 ， 辱 沒 你 ， 為 眾 目 所 觀 。

7 凡 看 見 你 的 ， 都 必 逃 跑 離 開 你 ， 說 ： 尼 尼 微 荒 涼 了 ！ 有 誰 為 你 悲 傷 呢 ？ 我 何 處 尋 得 安 慰 你 的 人 呢 ？

8 你 豈 比 挪 亞 們 （ 或 ） 強 呢 ？ 挪 亞 們 坐 落 在 眾 河 之 間 ， 周 圍 有 水 ； 海 （ 指 尼 羅 河 ） 作 他 的 濠 溝 ， 又 作 他 的 城 牆 。

9 古 實 和 埃 及 是 他 無 窮 的 力 量 ； 弗 人 和 路 比 族 是 他 的 幫 手 。

10 但 他 被 遷 移 ， 被 擄 去 ； 他 的 嬰 孩 在 各 市 口 上 也 被 摔 死 。 人 為 他 的 尊 貴 人 拈 鬮 ； 他 所 有 的 大 人 都 被 鍊 子 鎖 著 。

11 你 也 必 喝 醉 ， 必 被 埋 藏 ， 並 因 仇 敵 的 緣 故 尋 求 避 難 所 。

12 你 一 切 保 障 必 像 無 花 果 樹 上 初 熟 的 無 花 果 ， 若 一 搖 撼 就 落 在 想 吃 之 人 的 口 中 。

13 你 地 上 的 人 民 如 同 婦 女 ； 你 國 中 的 關 口 向 仇 敵 敞 開 ； 你 的 門 閂 被 火 焚 燒 。

14 你 要 打 水 預 備 受 困 ； 要 堅 固 你 的 保 障 ， 踹 土 和 泥 ， 修 補 磚 窯 。

15 在 那 裡 ， 火 必 燒 滅 你 ； 刀 必 殺 戮 你 ， 吞 滅 你 如 同 蝻 子 。 任 你 加 增 人 數 多 如 蝻 子 ， 多 如 蝗 蟲 罷 ！

16 你 增 添 商 賈 ， 多 過 天 上 的 星 ； 蝻 子 吃 盡 而 去 。

17 你 的 首 領 多 如 蝗 蟲 ； 你 的 軍 長 彷 彿 成 群 的 螞 蚱 ， 天 涼 的 時 候 齊 落 在 籬 笆 上 ， 日 頭 一 出 便 都 飛 去 ， 人 不 知 道 落 在 何 處 。

18 亞 述 王 啊 ， 你 的 牧 人 睡 覺 ； 你 的 貴 冑 安 歇 ； 你 的 人 民 散 在 山 間 ， 無 人 招 聚 。

19 你 的 損 傷 無 法 醫 治 ； 你 的 傷 痕 極 其 重 大 。 凡 聽 你 信 息 的 必 都 因 此 向 你 拍 掌 。 你 所 行 的 惡 誰 沒 有 時 常 遭 遇 呢 ？

INTRODUCTION TO NAHUM 3

In this chapter is contained the prophecy of the destruction of Nineveh, and with it the whole Assyrian empire; the causes of which, besides those before mentioned, were the murders, lies, and robberies it was full of, Na 3:1 for which it should be swiftly and cruelly destroyed, Na 3:2,3 as also its whoredoms and witchcrafts, or idolatry, by which nations and families were seduced, Na 3:4 and hence she should be treated as a harlot, her nakedness exposed, and she cast out with contempt, and mocked at by all, Na 3:5-7 and all those things she placed her confidence in are shown to be of no avail; as her situation and fortresses, as she might learn from the case of No Amon, Na 3:8-12 nor the number of her inhabitants, which were weak as women; nor even her merchants, captains, nobles, and king himself, Na 3:13-18 nor the people she was in alliance with, who would now mock at her, her case being irrecoverable and incurable, Na 3:19.
