12 他 們 不 認 耶 和 華 ， 說 ： 這 並 不 是 他 ， 災 禍 必 不 臨 到 我 們 ； 刀 劍 和 饑 荒 ， 我 們 也 看 不 見 。

Jeremiah 5:12

They have belied the Lord, and said, it is not he
Or, "denied the Lord" ^F24, as some render the words, saying that there was no God; which, though they might not deliver in express words, yet inasmuch as they denied his providence, and disbelieved his word by his prophets, it was tacitly denying that there was a God, or that the Lord was God. The meaning of the phrase "not he" may be, he takes no notice of what is done by us; he does not concern himself with our affairs; nor has he given any such orders to our enemies, as above; nor said these things by the prophets which are pretended: neither shall evil come upon us;
they speak of: neither shall we see sword nor famine;
war and sieges, and famine, the consequence of them.

10 你 們 要 上 他 葡 萄 園 的 牆 施 行 毀 壞 ， 但 不 可 毀 壞 淨 盡 ， 只 可 除 掉 他 的 枝 子 ， 因 為 不 屬 耶 和 華 。

11 原 來 以 色 列 家 和 猶 大 家 大 行 詭 詐 攻 擊 我 。 這 是 耶 和 華 說 的 。

12 他 們 不 認 耶 和 華 ， 說 ： 這 並 不 是 他 ， 災 禍 必 不 臨 到 我 們 ； 刀 劍 和 饑 荒 ， 我 們 也 看 不 見 。

13 先 知 的 話 必 成 為 風 ； 道 也 不 在 他 們 裡 面 。 這 災 必 臨 到 他 們 身 上 。

14 所 以 耶 和 華 ─ 萬 軍 之 　 神 如 此 說 ： 因 為 百 姓 說 這 話 ， 我 必 使 我 的 話 在 你 口 中 為 火 ， 使 他 們 為 柴 ； 這 火 便 將 他 們 燒 滅 。
