耶利米書 7:16

16 所 以 ， 你 不 要 為 這 百 姓 祈 禱 ； 不 要 為 他 們 呼 求 禱 告 ， 也 不 要 向 我 為 他 們 祈 求 ， 因 我 不 聽 允 你 。

Jeremiah 7:16

Therefore pray not thou for this people
These are the words of the Lord to the Prophet Jeremiah, forbidding him to pray for the people of the Jews; which he either was doing, or about to do, and which, from the great affection he had for them, he was inclined unto; wherefore, to show how much the Lord was displeased with them, and how determined he was to punish them with captivity, he orders the prophet not to make any supplication for them: neither lift up cry nor prayer for them;
referring to the gestures of lifting up the eyes and hands in prayer, and also to the frame of the heart, in the exercise of faith and holy confidence: "cry" and "prayer" are put together, because prayer is sometimes made, especially when persons are in great distress, with strong cryings and tears; see ( Hebrews 5:7 ) : neither make intercession to me;
or, "meet me" ^F15; or come between him and this people, and so act the part of a mediator, of which office intercession is a branch; it properly belongs to Christ. The Jews say

14 所 以 我 要 向 這 稱 我 為 名 下 、 你 們 所 倚 靠 的 殿 ， 與 我 所 賜 給 你 們 和 你 們 列 祖 的 地 施 行 ， 照 我 從 前 向 示 羅 所 行 的 一 樣 。

15 我 必 將 你 們 從 我 眼 前 趕 出 ， 正 如 趕 出 你 們 的 眾 弟 兄 ， 就 是 以 法 蓮 的 一 切 後 裔 。

16 所 以 ， 你 不 要 為 這 百 姓 祈 禱 ； 不 要 為 他 們 呼 求 禱 告 ， 也 不 要 向 我 為 他 們 祈 求 ， 因 我 不 聽 允 你 。

17 他 們 在 猶 大 城 邑 中 和 耶 路 撒 冷 街 上 所 行 的 ， 你 沒 有 看 見 麼 ？

18 孩 子 撿 柴 ， 父 親 燒 火 ， 婦 女 摶 麵 做 餅 ， 獻 給 天 后 ， 又 向 別 　 神 澆 奠 祭 ， 惹 我 發 怒 。
