25 他 們 就 問 他 說 ： 你 是 誰 ？ 耶 穌 對 他 們 說 ： 就 是 我 從 起 初 所 告 訴 你 們 的 。

約翰福音 8:25 Meaning and Commentary

John 8:25

Then said they unto him, who art thou?
&c.] That talks at this rate, and threatens with death, in case of unbelief; this they said with an haughty air, and in a scornful manner:

and Jesus saith unto them, even [the same] that I said unto you from
the beginning;
meaning, either of this discourse, as that he was the light of the world, and which he continued to assert; or of his being had before the sanhedrim, when he affirmed that God was his Father, and by many strong arguments proved his divine sonship; or of his ministry, when by miracles, as well as doctrines, he made it to appear that he was he that was to come, the true Messiah; or who spake from the beginning to Moses, saying, I am that I am, hath sent thee, and to the church, and Jewish fathers in the wilderness; and who is that word that was from the beginning with God; and who is called the beginning, the first cause of all things, and of the creation of God; and some think this is intended here.

23 耶 穌 對 他 們 說 ： 你 們 是 從 下 頭 來 的 ， 我 是 從 上 頭 來 的 ； 你 們 是 屬 這 世 界 的 ， 我 不 是 屬 這 世 界 的 。

24 所 以 我 對 你 們 說 ， 你 們 要 死 在 罪 中 。 你 們 若 不 信 我 是 基 督 ， 必 要 死 在 罪 中 。

25 他 們 就 問 他 說 ： 你 是 誰 ？ 耶 穌 對 他 們 說 ： 就 是 我 從 起 初 所 告 訴 你 們 的 。

26 我 有 許 多 事 講 論 你 們 ， 判 斷 你 們 ； 但 那 差 我 來 的 是 真 的 ， 我 在 他 那 裡 所 聽 見 的 ， 我 就 傳 給 世 人 。

27 他 們 不 明 白 耶 穌 是 指 著 父 說 的 。
