1 Kings 18:24

And call ye on the name of your gods
The Baalim, the many lords and gods they served:

and I will call on the name of the Lord;
the one true Jehovah and God of Israel, whom I serve:

and the God that answereth by fire;
by causing fire to come down upon the sacrifice, and consume it:

let him be God;
accounted, owned, and acknowledged as the true God, and so afterwards worshipped as such:

and all the people answered and said, it is well spoken;
they thought it a very reasonable proposal, a very good method to determine the controversy, and come at the truth, and know who was the true God, and who not.

23 Dāng gĕi wǒmen liǎng zhǐ niúdú , bā lì de xiānzhī kĕyǐ tiānxuǎn yī zhǐ , qiē chéng kuaì zǐ , fàng zaì chái shàng , búyào diǎnhuǒ . wǒ yĕ yùbeì yī zhǐ niúdú fàng zaì chái shàng , yĕ bù diǎnhuǒ .

24 Nǐmen qiúgào nǐmen shén de míng , wǒ yĕ qiúgào Yēhéhuá de míng . nà jiàng huǒ xiǎn yīng de shén , jiù shì shén . zhòng mín huídá shuō , zhè huà shén hǎo .

25 Yǐlìyà duì bā lì de xiānzhī shuō , nǐmen jì shì rén duō , dāng xiān tiānxuǎn yī zhǐ niúdú , yùbeì hǎo le , jiù qiúgào nǐmen shén de míng , què búyào diǎnhuǒ .

26 Tāmen jiāng suǒ dé de niúdú yùbeì hǎo le , cóng zǎochen dào wǔ jiān , qiúgào bā lì de míng shuō , bā lì a , qiú nǐ yīngyún wǒmen . què méiyǒu shēngyīn , méiyǒu yīngyún de . tāmen zaì suǒ zhú de tán sìwéi yǒng tiào .
