Lìwèijì 11:1 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 11:1

And the Lord spake unto Moses, and unto Aaron
The one being the chief magistrate, and the other the high priest, and both concerned to see the following laws put into execution; according to Jarchi, the Lord spoke to Moses that he might speak to Aaron; but being now in office, and one part of his office being to distinguish between clean and unclean, the following discourse is directed equally to him as to Moses:

saying unto them;

2 Nǐmen xiǎoyù Yǐsèliè rén shuō , zaì dì shàng yīqiè zǒushòu zhōng kè chī de nǎi shì zhèxie ,
3 Fán tí fèn liǎng bàn , dǎo jiaó de zǒushòu , nǐmen dōu kĕyǐ chī .
4 Dàn nà dǎo jiaó huò fèn tí zhī zhōng bùkĕ chī de nǎi shì luòtuo , yīnwei dǎo jiaó bù fèn tí , jiù yǔ nǐmen bù jiéjìng .
5 Shā fān yīnwei dǎo jiaó bù fèn tí , jiù yǔ nǐmen bù jiéjìng .
