Jeremiah 5:16

Their quiver is an open sepulchre
The Chaldeans used bows and arrows in fighting; and the quiver is a case for arrows; and the phrase denotes, that their arrows would do great execution, and be very mortal; so that a quiver of them would be as devouring as an open grave, into which many dead are cast. The Septuagint and Arabic versions have not this clause; and the Syriac version renders it, "whose throats are as open sepulchres"; see ( Romans 3:13 ) : they are all mighty men;
strong in body, of bold and courageous spirits, expert in war, and ever victorious; so that there was no hope of being delivered out of their hands.

14 Suǒyǐ Yēhéhuá wàn jūn zhī shén rúcǐ shuō , yīnwei bǎixìng shuō zhè huà , wǒ bì shǐ wǒde huà zaì nǐ kǒu zhōng wèi huǒ , shǐ tāmen wèi chái . zhè huǒ biàn jiāng tāmen shāo miè .

15 Yēhéhuá shuō , Yǐsèliè jiā a , wǒ bì shǐ yī guó de mín cóng yuǎnfāng lái gōngjī nǐ , shì qiángshèng de guó , shì cóng gǔ ér yǒude guó . tāmende yányǔ nǐ bú xiǎodé , tāmende huà nǐ bù míngbai .

17 Tāmen bì chī jǐn nǐde zhuāngjia hé nǐde liángshi , shì nǐ érnǚ gāi chī de . bì chī jǐn nǐde niú yáng , chī jǐn nǐde pútào hé wúhuāguǒ . yòu bì yòng dāo huǐhuaì nǐ suǒ yǐkào de jiāngù chéng .

18 Yēhéhuá shuō , jiù shì dào nàshí , wǒ yĕ bù jiāng nǐmen huǐmiè jìng jǐn .
