Genesis 19:6

And Lot went out at the door unto them
At the door of his house:

and shut the door after him;
the door of the passage to his house, the courtyard door, for another word is here used; unless the one was properly the door, and the other a hatch: however, this precaution of shutting it was used to prevent the men of Sodom rushing in, and taking away the men by violence; and that Lot might have some opportunity of trying what he could do by arguments, to prevail upon them to desist from their attempt.

4 他 们 还 没 有 躺 下 ， 所 多 玛 城 里 各 处 的 人 ， 连 老 带 少 ， 都 来 围 住 那 房 子 ，

5 呼 叫 罗 得 说 ： 今 日 晚 上 到 你 这 里 来 的 人 在 那 里 呢 ？ 把 他 们 带 出 来 ， 任 我 们 所 为 。

6 罗 得 出 来 ， 把 门 关 上 ， 到 众 人 那 里 ，

7 说 ： 众 弟 兄 ， 请 你 们 不 要 作 这 恶 事 。

8 我 有 两 个 女 儿 ， 还 是 处 女 ， 容 我 领 出 来 ， 任 凭 你 们 的 心 愿 而 行 ； 只 是 这 两 个 人 既 然 到 我 舍 下 ， 不 要 向 他 们 作 甚 麽 。
