5 以 斯 拉 便 起 来 ， 使 祭 司 长 和 利 未 人 ， 并 以 色 列 众 人 起 誓 说 ， 必 照 这 话 去 行 ； 他 们 就 起 了 誓 。

Ezra 10:5

Then arose Ezra
From the ground where he lay:

and made the chief priests, and the Levites, and all Israel, to swear
that they should do according to this word:
he took an oath of all that were present to do what was proposed, namely, to put away strange wives and their children:

and they sware;
by means of which they were kept to their word of promise, an oath being a solemn, sacred, thing.

3 现 在 当 与 我 们 的 　 神 立 约 ， 休 这 一 切 的 妻 ， 离 绝 他 们 所 生 的 ， 照 着 我 主 和 那 因 　 神 命 令 战 兢 之 人 所 议 定 的 ， 按 律 法 而 行 。

4 你 起 来 ， 这 是 你 当 办 的 事 ， 我 们 必 帮 助 你 ， 你 当 奋 勉 而 行 。 」

5 以 斯 拉 便 起 来 ， 使 祭 司 长 和 利 未 人 ， 并 以 色 列 众 人 起 誓 说 ， 必 照 这 话 去 行 ； 他 们 就 起 了 誓 。

6 以 斯 拉 从 　 神 殿 前 起 来 ， 进 入 以 利 亚 实 的 儿 子 约 哈 难 的 屋 里 ， 到 了 那 里 不 吃 饭 ， 也 不 喝 水 ； 因 为 被 掳 归 回 之 人 所 犯 的 罪 ， 心 里 悲 伤 。

7 他 们 通 告 犹 大 和 耶 路 撒 冷 被 掳 归 回 的 人 ， 叫 他 们 在 耶 路 撒 冷 聚 集 。
