3 王 可 以 派 官 在 国 中 的 各 省 招 聚 美 貌 的 处 女 到 书 珊 城 （ 或 译 ： 宫 ） 的 女 院 ， 交 给 掌 管 女 子 的 太 监 希 该 ， 给 他 们 当 用 的 香 品 。

Esther 2:3

And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his
kingdom
Who best knew where beautiful virgins might be found in their respective provinces, in which they dwelt: that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto Shushan
the palace;
the metropolis of the kingdom, where was the royal palace: to the house of the women, unto the custody of Hege the king's
chamberlain, the keeper of the women;
in which house it seems were two apartments, one for the virgins before they were introduced to the king, the other for them when they were become his concubines, which had a keeper also; but this Hege seems to have been over the whole house, ( Esther 2:14 ) . It was not only usual with the eastern people, as with the Turks now, for great personages to have keepers of their wives and concubines, but with the Romans also ^F4: and let their things for purification be given them;
such as oil of myrrh, spices to remove all impurity and ill scent from them, and make them look smooth and beautiful.

2 於 是 王 的 侍 臣 对 王 说 ： 不 如 为 王 寻 找 美 貌 的 处 女 。

3 王 可 以 派 官 在 国 中 的 各 省 招 聚 美 貌 的 处 女 到 书 珊 城 （ 或 译 ： 宫 ） 的 女 院 ， 交 给 掌 管 女 子 的 太 监 希 该 ， 给 他 们 当 用 的 香 品 。

4 王 所 喜 爱 的 女 子 可 以 立 为 王 后 ， 代 替 瓦 实 提 。 」 王 以 这 事 为 美 ， 就 如 此 行 。

5 书 珊 城 有 一 个 犹 大 人 ， 名 叫 末 底 改 ， 是 便 雅 悯 人 基 士 的 曾 孙 ， 示 每 的 孙 子 ， 睚 珥 的 儿 子 。
