2 John 1:5

And now I beseech thee, lady
Or "Kyria", which word the Syriac and Arabic versions retain, as if it was a proper name: the apostle having finished the inscription, salutation, and congratulation in the preceding verses, passes to an exhortation and entreaty to observe the commandment of love to one another, which is not a new commandment, but what was from the beginning:

not as though I wrote a new commandment (See Gill on 1 John 2:7) and (See Gill on 1 John 2:8).

3 Es wird mit euch sein Gnade, Barmherzigkeit, Friede von Gott, dem Vater, und von dem Herrn Jesus Christus, dem Sohne des Vaters, in Wahrheit und Liebe.

4 Ich freute mich sehr, daß ich einige von deinen Kindern in der Wahrheit wandelnd gefunden habe, wie wir von dem Vater ein Gebot empfangen haben.

5 Und nun bitte ich dich, Frau, nicht als ob ich ein neues Gebot dir schriebe, sondern das, welches wir von Anfang gehabt haben: daß wir einander lieben sollen.

6 Und dies ist die Liebe, daß wir nach seinen Geboten wandeln. Dies ist das Gebot, wie ihr von Anfang gehört habt, daß ihr darin wandeln sollt.

7 Denn viele Verführer sind in die Welt ausgegangen, die nicht Jesum Christum im Fleische kommend bekennen; dies ist der Verführer und der Antichrist.
