Acts 2:36-41

36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that ¹God has made him ²both Lord and Christ, this Jesus ³whom you crucified."

37 Now when ⁴they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, ⁵what shall we do?"

38 And Peter said to them, ⁶"Repent and ⁷be baptized every one of you ⁸in the name of Jesus Christ ⁹for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ¹⁰the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For ¹¹the promise is for you and ¹²for your children and for all ¹³who are far off, everyone ¹⁴whom the Lord our God calls to himself."

40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, ¹⁵"Save yourselves from this ¹⁶crooked generation."

41 So those who received his word were baptized, and ¹⁷there were added that day about three thousand souls.
