Acts 2:36-47

36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that ¹God has made him ²both Lord and Christ, this Jesus ³whom you crucified. ”

37 Now when ⁴they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, ⁵what shall we do? ”

38 And Peter said to them, ⁶“Repent and ⁷be baptized every one of you ⁸in the name of Jesus Christ ⁹for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ¹⁰the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For ¹¹the promise is for you and ¹²for your children and for all ¹³who are far off, everyone ¹⁴whom the Lord our God calls to himself. ”

40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, ¹⁵“Save yourselves from this ¹⁶crooked generation. ”

41 So those who received his word were baptized, and ¹⁷there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers

42 And ¹⁸they devoted themselves to the apostles’ ¹⁹teaching and the ²⁰fellowship, to ²¹the breaking of bread and the prayers.

43 And awe^[a] came upon every soul, and ²²many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

44 And all who believed were together and ²³had all things in common.

45 And ²⁴they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.

46 And day by day, ²⁵attending the temple ²⁶together and ²⁷breaking bread in their homes, they received their food ²⁸with glad and generous hearts,

47 praising God and ²⁹having favor with all the people. And the Lord ³⁰added to their number ³¹day by day those who ³²were being saved.
