34 As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before 1the testimony to be kept.

Exodus 16:34

As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the
testimony, to be kept.
] That is, before the ark of the testimony; when that was made, as it was in a little time after this, called the testimony, because it contained in it the law, which was a testimony or testification of the mind and will of God unto Israel, see ( Exodus 25:16 Exodus 25:21 Exodus 25:22 ) the apostle says, the pot of manna was in the ark, ( Hebrews 9:4 ) that is, on one side of it, (See Gill on Hebrews 9:4).

Exodus 16:34 In-Context

32 Moses said, ā€œThis is what the Lord has commanded: ā€˜Let an omer of it be kept throughout your generations, so that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt. ā€™ā€
33 And Moses said to Aaron, ā€œTake a jar, and put an omer of manna in it, and place it before the Lord to be kept throughout your generations. ā€
34 As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before the testimony to be kept.
35 The people of Israel ate the manna forty years, till they came to a habitable land. They ate the manna till they came to the border of the land of Canaan.
36 (An omer is the tenth part of an ephah. )
