Signs of the End of the Age
3 As he sat on
1the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him
2privately, saying, “Tell us,
3when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your
4coming and of
5the end of the age? ”
4
And Jesus answered them,
6“See that no one leads you astray.
5
For
7many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am
8the Christ, ’ and they will lead many astray.
6
And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you
9are not alarmed, for this
10must take place, but the end is not yet.
7
For
11nation will rise against nation, and
12kingdom against kingdom, and there will be
13famines and earthquakes in various places.
8
All these are but the beginning of
14the birth pains.
9
“Then
15they will deliver you up
16to tribulation and
17put you to death, and
18you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.
10
And then many will fall away and
19betray one another and hate one another.
11
And many
20false prophets will arise
21and lead many astray.
12
And because lawlessness will be increased,
22the love of many will grow cold.
13
23But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
14
And this gospel of the kingdom
24will be proclaimed throughout the whole world
25as a testimony
26to all nations, and
27then the end will come.
