2 E Saulle si levò su, e scese nel deserto di Zif, avendo seco tremila uomini scelti d’Israele, per cercar Davide nel deserto di Zif.

1 Samuel 26:2

Then Saul arose
Immediately, glad of an opportunity to seize on David, having the same disposition towards him as ever; and perhaps had repented he had not laid hold on him when he followed him out of the cave:

and went down to the wilderness of Ziph:
or towards it:

having three thousand chosen men of Israel;
young men, so called, because usually chosen for business, and for war particularly, rather than old men; the same number he took with him when he sought him at Engedi, ( 1 Samuel 24:2 ) ;

to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph;
where or whereabouts he was informed by the Ziphites he was.

1 OR gli Zifei vennero a Saulle, in Ghibea, dicendo: Davide non si tiene egli nascosto nel colle di Hachila, a fronte al deserto?
2 E Saulle si levò su, e scese nel deserto di Zif, avendo seco tremila uomini scelti d’Israele, per cercar Davide nel deserto di Zif.
3 E Saulle si accampò nel colle di Hachila, ch’è a fronte al deserto, in su la via. E Davide, dimorando nel deserto, si avvide che Saulle veniva nel deserto per perseguitarlo;
4 e mandò delle spie, e seppe per certo che Saulle era venuto.
5 Allora Davide si levò, e venne al luogo dove Saulle era accampato, e vide il luogo dove giaceva Saulle, ed Abner, figliuolo di Ner, capo dell’esercito di esso. Or Saulle giaceva dentro al recinto, e il popolo era accampato d’intorno a lui.
