6 E disse a’ giudici: Riguardate ciò che voi fate; perciocchè voi non tenete la ragione per un uomo, ma per lo Signore, il quale è con voi negli affari della giustizia.

2 Chronicles 19:6

And said to the judges, take heed what you do
In judgment, that they judged righteous judgment according to the law of God, without partiality and respect of persons:

for ye judge not for man, but for the Lord;
not for man only, but for the Lord; and not so much for man as for the Lord, whom they represented in judgment; whose law was the rule of their judgment, and whose glory their end, and to whom they were accountable:

who is with you in the judgment:
as to guide and direct you, so to observe how they behaved, and be a witness for or against them; the Targum is,

``ye judge not before men, but before the Word of the Lord, whose Shechinah dwells with you in the affair of judgment.''

4 E GIOSAFAT, essendo dimorato alquanto tempo in Gerusalemme, andò di nuovo attorno fra il popolo, da Beerseba fino al monte di Efraim, e li ridusse al Signore Iddio de’ lor padri.

5 E costituì de’ giudici nel paese, per tutte le città forti di Giuda, di città in città.

6 E disse a’ giudici: Riguardate ciò che voi fate; perciocchè voi non tenete la ragione per un uomo, ma per lo Signore, il quale è con voi negli affari della giustizia.

7 Ora dunque, sia lo spavento del Signore sopra voi; prendete guardia al dover vostro, e mettetelo ed effetto; perciocchè appo il Signore Iddio nostro non vi è alcuna iniquità, nè riguardo alla qualità delle persone, nè prendimento di presenti.

8 Oltre a ciò, Giosafat costituì anche in Gerusalemme alcuni d’infra i Leviti, e d’infra i sacerdoti, e d’infra i capi delle famiglie paterne d’Israele, per tener la ragione del Signore, e per giudicar le liti; e si ricorreva in Gerusalemme.
