19 E quant’è alla sua orazione, e come Iddio fu placato inverso lui, e tutto il suo peccato, e il suo misfatto, e i luoghi ne’ quali egli edificò degli alti luoghi, e rizzò boschi e sculture, avanti che si fosse umiliato; ecco, queste cose sono scritte nel libro di Hozai.

His prayer also
Was not only recorded in the above annals, but in the writings of another person after mentioned:

and how God was entreated of him;
heard his prayer, and showed him favour both in a temporal and spiritual way; for though the Jews would not allow that he was saved, or had a part in the world to come, eternal life ^F17, yet there appears no just reason why it should be so thought:

and all his sin, and his trespass;
his impieties, idolatries, and murders: and the places wherein he built high places; see ( 2 Chronicles 33:3 )

and set up groves;
statues in groves:

and graven images, before he was humbled;
see ( 2 Chronicles 33:7 2 Chronicles 33:22 ) ,

behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers;
or of Hosea, the name of a prophet who wrote the history of his own times; so the Targrim and Vulgate Latin version; and, according to the Jewish chronology ^F18, there was a prophet of this name in the times of Amon the son of Manasseh.

17 Nondimeno il popolo sacrificava ancora negli alti luoghi; ma pure al Signore Iddio suo.

18 Ora, quant’è al rimanente de’ fatti di Manasse, e l’orazione ch’egli fece all’Iddio suo, e le parole de’ veggenti, che gli parlarono a nome del Signore Iddio d’Israele; ecco, queste cose sono scritte nel libro dei re d’Israele.

20 E Manasse giacque co’ suoi padri, e fu seppellito in casa sua. Ed Amon, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.

21 AMON era d’età di ventidue anni, quando cominciò a regnare; e regnò due anni in Gerusalemme.
