20 E Manasse giacque co’ suoi padri, e fu seppellito in casa sua. Ed Amon, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.

Ver. 20-25. So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him
in his own house
That is, in the garden of his house, (See Gill on 2 Kings 21:18); there; to which may be added, that the Jews ^F19 in later times buried in a garden; though it was the custom of the ancients, both Greeks ^F20 and Romans ^F21, to bury the dead in their own houses; hence sprung the worship of the Lares and Penates, the household gods: from hence to the end of the chapter is the same with ( 2 Kings 21:18-26 ) .

18 Ora, quant’è al rimanente de’ fatti di Manasse, e l’orazione ch’egli fece all’Iddio suo, e le parole de’ veggenti, che gli parlarono a nome del Signore Iddio d’Israele; ecco, queste cose sono scritte nel libro dei re d’Israele.

19 E quant’è alla sua orazione, e come Iddio fu placato inverso lui, e tutto il suo peccato, e il suo misfatto, e i luoghi ne’ quali egli edificò degli alti luoghi, e rizzò boschi e sculture, avanti che si fosse umiliato; ecco, queste cose sono scritte nel libro di Hozai.

20 E Manasse giacque co’ suoi padri, e fu seppellito in casa sua. Ed Amon, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.

21 AMON era d’età di ventidue anni, quando cominciò a regnare; e regnò due anni in Gerusalemme.

22 E fece ciò che dispiace al Signore, come Manasse, suo padre, avea fatto; e sacrificò, e servì a tutte le sculture, che Manasse, suo padre, avea fatte.
