Deuteronomy 24:12

And if the man [be] poor
Which may be thought to be the case of everyone that gives pledges for a debt he owes, or a sum of money he borrows; yet there might be a difference: some might be so very destitute of goods and raiment in their houses, that whatever they parted with was distressing to them, and they could not well do without it:

thou shalt not sleep with his pledge;
nor keep it a night; but deliver it to him, before he went to bed, and laid himself down to sleep.

10 Quando tu farai alcun presto al tuo prossimo, non entrare in casa sua, per prender pegno da lui.
11 Stattene fuori, e portiti colui, al qual tu farai il presto, il pegno fuori.
12 E s’egli è povero uomo, non ti porre a giacere, avendo ancora il suo pegno.
13 Del tutto rendigli il pegno, al tramontar del sole; acciocchè egli possa giacer ne’ suoi panni, e ti benedica; e ciò ti sarà giustizia nel cospetto del Signore Iddio tuo.
14 Non fraudare il mercenario povero e bisognoso, chi ch’egli si sia de’ tuoi fratelli, o de’ forestieri che saranno nel tuo paese, dentro alle tue porte.
