31 Perciò, l’uomo lascerà suo padre, e sua madre, e si congiungerà con la sua moglie, e i due diverranno una stessa carne.

Ephesians 5:31

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother,
&c.] These words contain the law of marriage, and are cited from ( Genesis 2:24 ) ; and declare what ought to be, and are a prophecy of what should be; and are observed against polygamy, and to stir up mutual affection; (See Gill on Matthew 19:5).

29 Perciocchè niuno giammai ebbe in odio la sua carne, anzi la nudrisce, e la cura teneramente, siccome ancora il Signore la Chiesa.

30 Poichè noi siamo membra del suo corpo, della sua carne, e delle sue ossa.

31 Perciò, l’uomo lascerà suo padre, e sua madre, e si congiungerà con la sua moglie, e i due diverranno una stessa carne.

32 Questo mistero è grande; or io dico, a riguardo di Cristo, e della Chiesa.

33 Ma ciascun di voi così ami la sua moglie, come sè stesso; ed altresì la moglie riverisca il marito.
