3 E questo confine procedeva verso il Mezzodì, alla salita di Acrabbim, e passava fino a Sin; e dal Mezzodì saliva a Cades-barnea, e passava in Hesron; e di là saliva in Adar, e poi si volgeva verso Carcaa;

Joshua 15:3

And it went out to the south side of Maalehacrabbim
Or the ascent of Akrabbim, as it is called, (See Gill on Numbers 34:4):

and passed along to Zin, and ascended upon the south side unto
Kadeshbarnea;
which perfectly agrees with the southern border of the land, as described in ( Numbers 34:4 ) ;

and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar;
which two places being near to one another, as is very likely, are put together, as if one place, and called Hazaraddar, ( Numbers 34:4 ) ; and mention is made of Hezron, which is Hazor, ( Joshua 15:25 ) ; but not of Adar:

and fetched a compass to Karkaa;
which Jerom ^F23 calls Acchara, a village in the wilderness; and if the same with Carcaria, it was according to him a day's journey from Petra in Idumea; but that is not likely; see ( Judges 8:10 ) .

1 OR questa fu la sorte della tribù de’ figliuoli di Giuda, per le lor nazioni: L’estremità del lor paese verso il Mezzodì fu il deserto di Sin, a’ confini di Edom, verso il Mezzodì.

2 Così ebbero per confine dal Mezzodì, l’estremità del mar salso, dalla punta che riguarda verso il Mezzodì.

3 E questo confine procedeva verso il Mezzodì, alla salita di Acrabbim, e passava fino a Sin; e dal Mezzodì saliva a Cades-barnea, e passava in Hesron; e di là saliva in Adar, e poi si volgeva verso Carcaa;

4 poi passava verso Asmon, e si stendeva fino al Torrente di Egitto, e questo confine faceva capo al mare. Questo sarà, disse Giosuè, il vostro confine meridionale.

5 E il confine orientale fu il mar salso, fino all’estremità del Giordano. E il confine dal lato settentrionale fu dalla punta di quel mare, la quale è all’estremità del Giordano.
