John 7:11

Then the Jews sought him at the feast
Some to take him and kill him, and others to hear his doctrine, and see his miracles: for all expected him at the feast, knowing it was always his custom, as it was his duty, as an Israelite, to attend at it:

and said, where is he?
not naming his name; either through contempt, which might be the case of the far greater part; or through fear of the Jews; or because that he was so well known.

9 E dette loro tali cose, rimase in Galilea.

10 ORA, dopo che i suoi fratelli furon saliti alla festa, allora egli ancora vi salì, non palesemente, ma come di nascosto.

11 I Giudei adunque lo cercavano nella festa, e dicevano: Ov’è colui?

12 E v’era gran mormorio di lui fra le turbe; gli uni dicevano: Egli è da bene; altri dicevano: No; anzi egli seduce la moltitudine.

13 Ma pur niuno parlava di lui apertamente, per tema de’ Giudei.
