Luke 7:23

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
] The Arabic version renders it, "blessed is he that doubts not of me". The Persic and Ethiopic versions both add to the text, the former rendering the words thus, "blessed is he that is not brought into offence and doubt concerning me"; and the latter thus, "blessed are they who do not deny me, and are not offended in me": particular regard is had to the disciples of John, who both doubted of Christ as the Messiah, and were offended at his popularity and success; (See Gill on Matthew 11:6).

21 Or in quella stessa ora egli ne guarì molti d’infermità, e di flagelli, e di spiriti maligni; ed a molti ciechi donò il vedere

22 E Gesù, rispondendo, disse loro: Andate, e rapportate a Giovanni le cose che avete vedute ed udite: che i ciechi ricoverano la vista, che gli zoppi camminano, che i lebbrosi son nettati, che i sordi odono, che i morti sono risuscitati, che l’evangelo è annunziato a’ poveri.

24 E quando i messi di Giovanni se ne furono andati, egli prese a dire alle turbe, intorno a Giovanni: Che andaste voi a veder nel deserto? una canna dimenata dal vento?

25 Ma pure che andaste voi a vedere? un uomo vestito di vestimenti morbidi? ecco, coloro che usano vestimenti magnifici, e vivono in delizie, stanno ne’ palazzi dei re.
