Marco 14:52 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 14:52

And he left the linen cloth
"In their hands", so the Persic version renders it; just as Joseph left his garment in the hands of his mistress, ( Genesis 39:12 ) ;

and fled from them naked;
to the house from whence he came. The Syriac, Arabic, Persic, and Ethiopic versions, leave out the words "from them".

51 Ed un certo giovane lo seguitava, involto d’un panno lino sopra la carne ignuda, e i fanti lo presero.
52 Ma egli, lasciato il panno, se ne fuggì da loro, ignudo.
53 ED essi ne menarono Gesù al sommo sacerdote; appresso il quale si raunarono insieme tutti i principali sacerdoti, e gli anziani, e gli Scribi.
54 E Pietro lo seguitava da lungi, fin dentro alla corte del sommo sacerdote; ove si pose a sedere co’ sergenti, e si scaldava al fuoco.
