Mark 6:46

And when he had sent them away
Either his disciples, or rather the multitude:

he departed into a mountain to pray:
after his disciples were gone, and he had dismissed the people, he went from the desert where he had been, up into a mountain; being a retired place, to spend some time in private prayer to God; (See Gill on Matthew 14:23).

45 E TOSTO appresso egli costrinse i suoi discepoli a montar nella navicella, ed a trarre innanzi a lui all’altra riva, verso Betsaida, mentre egli licenziava la moltitudine.
46 Poi, quando l’ebbe accommiatata, se ne andò in sul monte, per orare.
47 E, fattosi sera, la navicella era in mezzo del mare, ed egli era in terra tutto solo. E vide i discepoli che travagliavano nel vogare,
48 perciocchè il vento era loro contrario; e intorno alla quarta vigilia della notte, egli venne a loro, camminando sopra il mare; e voleva passar oltre a loro.
