23 In this way I will show all the nations that I am great and that I am holy. They will know then that I am the Lord."

Ezekiel 38:23 Meaning and Commentary

Ezekiel 38:23

Thus will l magnify myself, and sanctify myself
Show the greatness of his power, and the strictness of his justice and holiness, and glorify these, and all other of his perfections, in the destruction of the enemies of his people: and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know
that I am the Lord;
Heathen nations shall now come to the knowledge of the true God, and his Son Jesus Christ, and of the Christian religion, and shall embrace and profess it; (See Gill on Ezekiel 38:16), the kingdoms of the world will now become the Lord's, ( Revelation 11:15 ) .

Ezekiel 38:23 In-Context

21 I will terrify Gog with all sorts of calamities. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken. His men will turn their swords against one another.
22 I will punish him with disease and bloodshed. Torrents of rain and hail, together with fire and sulfur, will pour down on him and his army and on the many nations that are on his side.
23 In this way I will show all the nations that I am great and that I am holy. They will know then that I am the Lord."
