2 Kings 6:21

And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them,
&c.] The Syrian army thus in his hands:

my father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?
he speaks with great reverence and respect to the prophet, whom at other times he neglected and despised; and the repetition of his words shows the eagerness of his mind to fall upon his enemy when they where at a disadvantage.

19 Y Eliseo les dijo: No es éste el camino, ni es ésta la ciudad; seguidme, que yo os guiaré al hombre que buscáis. Y los guió a Samaria

20 Y cuando llegaron a Samaria, dijo Eliseo: SEÑOR, abre los ojos de éstos, para que vean. Y el SEÑOR abrió sus ojos, y miraron, y he aquí se hallaron en medio de Samaria

21 Y cuando los vio, el rey de Israel dijo a Eliseo: ¿Los heriré? ¿Los heriré, padre mío

22 Y él le respondió: No los hieras; ¿herirías tú a los que tomaste cautivos con tu espada y con tu arco? Pon delante de ellos pan y agua, para que coman y beban, y se vuelvan a su señor

23 Entonces les fue aparejada grande comida; y cuando habían comido y bebido, los envió, y ellos se volvieron a su señor. Y nunca más vinieron escuadrones de Siria a la tierra de Israel
