32 Por tanto, el SEÑOR dice así del rey de Asiria: No entrará en esta ciudad, ni echará saeta en ella; ni vendrá delante de ella escudo, ni será echado contra ella baluarte

33 Por el camino que vino se volverá, y no entrará en esta ciudad, dice el SEÑOR

34 Porque yo ampararé a esta ciudad para salvarla, por amor de mí, y por amor de David mi siervo

35 Y aconteció que la misma noche salió el ángel del SEÑOR, e hirió en el campamento de los Asirios ciento ochenta y cinco mil hombres; y cuando se levantaron por la mañana, he aquí los cuerpos de los muertos

36 Entonces Senaquerib, rey de Asiria partió, y se fue de allí y estuvo en Nínive

37 Y aconteció, que estando él adorando en la casa de Nisroc su dios, Adramelec y Sarezer sus hijos lo hirieron a espada; y huyeron a tierra de Ararat. Y reinó en su lugar Esar-hadón su hijo

INTRODUCTION TO 2 KINGS 19

This chapter relates that King Hezekiah, on a report made to him of Rabshakeh's speech, sent a message to the prophet Isaiah to pray for him, who returned him a comfortable and encouraging answer, 2Ki 19:1-7 and that upon Rabshakeh's return to the king of Assyria, he sent to Hezekiah a terrifying letter, 2Ki 19:8-13, which Hezekiah spread before the Lord, and prayed unto him to save him and his people out of the hands of the king of Assyria, 2Ki 19:14-19, to which he had a gracious answer sent him by the prophet Isaiah, promising him deliverance from the Assyrian army, 2Ki 19:20-34, which accordingly was destroyed by an angel in one night, and Sennacherib fleeing to Nineveh, was slain by his two sons, 2Ki 19:35-37.
