2 Samuel 13:30

And it came to pass while they were in the way
On their road homewards, before they got to Jerusalem:

that tidings came to David;
perhaps brought by one who was at the entertainment, who upon seeing Amnon smitten, immediately rose up and fled with the news of it to David:

saying, Absalom hath slain all the king's sons, and there is not one of
them left;
which he might suppose was the design of Absalom, and was done before that time; however, so it was ordered in Providence, that David, that rejoiced at the news of the death of Uriah, might be terrified with the tidings of the death of all his sons; and for a while it was as if it was really so, which occasioned the following behaviour in him.

28 Y había Absalón dado orden a sus criados, diciendo: Ahora bien, mirad cuando el corazón de Amnón estará alegre del vino, y cuando yo os dijere: Herid a Amnón, entonces matadle, y no temáis; que yo os lo he mandado. Esforzaos pues, y sed valientes

29 Y los criados de Absalón hicieron con Amnón como Absalón lo había mandado. Se levantaron luego todos los hijos del rey, y subieron todos en sus mulos, y huyeron

31 Entonces levantándose David, rasgó sus vestidos, y se echó en tierra, y todos sus siervos tenían rasgados sus vestidos

32 Y Jonadab, hijo de Simea hermano de David, habló y dijo: No diga mi señor que han matado a todos los jóvenes hijos del rey, ya que sólo Amnón ha muerto; porque en la boca de Absalón estaba puesto desde el día que Amnón forzó a Tamar su hermana
