2 Samuel 14:18

Then the king answered and said unto the woman
Understanding plainly what she meant by all this, that the case she brought was a feigned one, and that the intention of it was to let him know the sense of the people with respect to Absalom, and the recall of him:

hide not from me, I pray thee, the thing that I shall ask thee;
he suspected that this was not a scheme of her own, but some considerable person had formed it, and made use of her to execute it, which was what he desired to know:

and the woman said, let my lord the king now speak;
ask what question he pleases, I am ready to answer.

16 Pues el rey oirá, para librar a su sierva de mano del hombre que me quiere raer a mí, y a mi hijo juntamente, de la heredad de Dios

17 Tu sierva pues dice: Que sea ahora la respuesta de mi señor el rey para descanso; pues que mi señor el rey es como un ángel de Dios para discernir el bien y el mal, y el SEÑOR tu Dios sea contigo

18 Entonces el rey respondió, y dijo a la mujer: Yo te ruego que no me encubras nada de lo que yo te preguntare. Y la mujer dijo: Hable mi señor el rey

19 Y el rey dijo: ¿No ha sido la mano de Joab contigo en todas estas cosas? Y la mujer respondió y dijo: Por la vida de tu alma, rey señor mío, que no hay que apartarse a derecha ni a izquierda de todo lo que mi señor el rey ha hablado; porque tu siervo Joab, él me mandó, y él puso en boca de tu sierva todas estas palabras

20 y que trocara la forma de las palabras, Joab tu siervo lo ha hecho; mas mi señor es sabio, conforme a la sabiduría de un ángel de Dios, para saber lo que se hace en la tierra
