25 antes desechasteis todo consejo mío, y no quisisteis mi reprensión

Proverbios 1:25 Meaning and Commentary

Proverbs 1:25

But ye have set at nought all my counsel
The same with "the counsel of God", ( Acts 20:27 ) . The whole Gospel, and all the truths of it; the entire scheme of salvation by Jesus Christ, which is the produce of divine wisdom, and is according to the counsel of the divine will, and his eternal purpose in Christ Jesus; this the Jews set at nought, made no account of, but despised and rejected, as they did Christ, the author of it, ( Acts 4:11 Acts 4:12 ) ; as also his ordinances, which go by the same name, because of the wisdom and will of God in them; particularly baptism, rejected by the Scribes and Pharisees, ( Luke 7:30 ) ; and would none of my reproof;
would not hearken to it, nor take it, nor receive any instruction from it nor caution by it; did not like it, but contemned it, and trampled upon it; see ( Matthew 23:37 ) .

Proverbios 1:25 In-Context

23 Volveos a mi reprensión; he aquí yo os derramaré mi espíritu, y os haré saber mis palabras
24 Por cuanto llamé, y no quisisteis; extendí mi mano, y no hubo quien escuchara
25 antes desechasteis todo consejo mío, y no quisisteis mi reprensión
26 también yo me reiré en vuestra calamidad, y me burlaré cuando os viniere lo que teméis
27 cuando viniere como una destrucción lo que teméis, y vuestra calamidad llegare como un torbellino; cuando sobre vosotros viniere tribulación y angustia
