ThenFestus, when he had conferredwith the council,answered, Hast thou appealed untoCaesar?untoCaesar shalt thou go.

AndaftercertaindayskingAgrippaandBernicecameuntoCaesarea to saluteFestus.

Andwhen they had beentheremanydays,FestusdeclaredPaul'scause unto the king,saying, There is a certainmanleft in bondsbyFelix:

Aboutwhom,whenIwasatJerusalem, the chief priestsand the elders of the Jewsinformed me, desiring to have judgmentagainsthim.

Towhom I answered*, It isnot the manner of the Romans to deliveranymantodie,beforethat he which is accusedhave the accusers face to face**, and havelicence to answer for himselfconcerning the crime laid against him.

Therefore, when they were comehither,withoutanydelay on the morrow I saton the judgment seat, and commanded the man to be brought forth.

Againstwhom when the accusers stood up, they broughtnoneaccusation of such things asIsupposed:

Buthadcertainquestionsagainsthimof their ownsuperstition,andofoneJesus, which was dead, whomPaulaffirmed to be alive.

And because Idoubted[a]ofsuchmanner of questions, I asked him whether he wouldgotoJerusalem, and there be judgedof these matters.

But when Paul had appealed to be reserved*unto the hearing[b] of Augustus, I commandedhim to be kepttillI might sendhimtoCaesar.

ThenAgrippasaiduntoFestus, I wouldalsohear the manmyself. To morrow*, said he, thou shalt hearhim.
