John 17:1-5

Listen to John 17:1-5

Jesus Prays to be Glorified

1 Jesus said these [things], and lifting up his eyes to heaven he said, "Father, the hour has come! Glorify your Son, in order that your Son may glorify you--
2 just as you have given him authority over all flesh, in order that he would give eternal life to them--everyone whom you have given him.
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
4 I have glorified you on earth [by] completing the work that you have given me {to do}.
5 And now, Father, you glorify me {at your side} with the glory that I had {at your side} before the world existed.

Eternal Glory
Eternal Glory
Pastor Jack Morris

Pastor Jack Morris takes us to the final week of Jesus’ earthly ministry. As recorded in John 17:1-5, Jesus lifts His eyes to Heaven and prays, knowing the cross is just ahead. He willingly faced suffering and death to redeem us from sin. But the story doesn’t end there. The grave could not hold Him. His resurrection power not only conquered death—it continues to transform lives today. Be encouraged as we reflect on the sacrifice, the victory, and the living hope we have in Christ.

Pastor Jack Morris

In the final week of His life Jesus was concluding His ministry on earth and faced death on a cross to redeem us from sin. We can rejoice in knowing that the grave could not hold Him and His resurrection power is still changing lives today. John 17:1-5 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began."
